About Bev

I ask questions that make people think; bringing
clarity & purpose.

It in July 2006, Startled Chameleon Training, Coaching and Consulting opened for business.

I have over 19 year’s experience working in the fields of HIV/AIDS and Substance Misuse (drugs and alcohol) both as a front line staff member and manager.   I’ve never been content to just ‘do my job’ and so throughout my career I have always sought new skills, knowledge and a lot of emotional intelligence to help me understand what helps people make changes (or not as the case may be!).  During this journey, I added coaching, counselling, energy therapy, group facilitation, training and consultancy to my skill set.

MENTAL WELL-BEING – I subscribe to the idea that good mental health is different for everyone but in the end it is about having a ‘satisfying’ balance between your social, work, and personal life.

So, whats a coach, consultant and trainer doing talking about mental wellbeing?  Its because the more I look at coaching and wellbeing, the more I realise that ‘both’ in their simplest form, are about ‘working out what’s not in balance and making changes to get the balance’.  I’m interested in the whole person, not what business traditions, micro and macro society or cultural mores say ‘must’ be.  When my clients figure out what they really want, they can find balance and they know how to make the right decisions for themselves.

Coaching AND Counselling?

There is a definite difference between coaching and counselling.   I’ve worked hard to use my counselling background as ‘added value’.  So my coaching informs my counselling and visa verse.   In addition, if ever the need arrived, I have discovered a way of respectfully moving between coaching and counselling and back into coaching.

How does all this benefit you?

It means we work in the hear and now and if we get stuck, we dip into the past, always moving forward.

Together we figure it out!!
